Prerequisite: All students must be at least 16 years of age in order to enroll in class, and acquire their CPR certification from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association or another approved agency. (This Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course is a combination of a traditional classroom EMT class and on-line EMT class that requires students to use a computer with internet access off campus, as well as attend class sessions conducted on campus.) Medical Technicians. Students will be required to read their textbook as well as successfully complete detailed online course work every week . In addition to the class sessions, students will be scheduled for clinical experiences in 9-1-1 dispatch centers, in both basic and advanced care EMS units, and in a hospital.
