Building an electric guitar takes on a whole different aspect to constructing a stringed instrument with many more complexities associated with it than acoustic construction. Even if you have experience building an acoustic guitar, this course that focuses exclusively on electrical guitar construction is the course for you. The electronic components alone set it off from its acoustic cousin. Our highly experienced instructor will review each of the components and the tools needed to perform a proper assembly. From the beginning, principles of intonation will be stressed as well as how the overall shape of an electric guitar will influence its sound. You will build the dual action trussrod, then add the frets, bridge and position markers. Finally, you will address the electronic components. At the completion of the course, you will spend a good portion of the remaining time learning to adjust the sound and perform minor corrections to insure that the guitar is ready to be played by even the most seasoned performer.
