This course is designed to introduce students to the basic practices of taking aerial video footage using drones. The course combines the development of the skills needed to fly drones with operating the type of camera equipment especially created to capture video from a flying vehicle. Students will learn about the working parts of a quadcopter and ways to perform simple repairs and adjustments. Outdoors, they will learn to fly the quadcopter, navigate air space, use GPS Lock, hover and land successfully. Once students have a grasp on the operation of the vehicle, they will learn to use the video equipment to record images from the flight. Returning indoors, students will then learn to assemble the footage using video editing software to complete a filmed record of their flight. Participants that take this class will be some of the first to gain skills in this exciting new field.
