Today’s Restaurants tend to focus on a specific food preparation method or culinary style, but often take the initiative to experiment with a variety of eclectic dishes from different parts of the world. You may often find one of these dishes on the “specials” menu when you sit down at your favorite family restaurant. In this course, students will develop the skills to create “classic” restaurant staples from various world cuisines, dishes that are known to most, but with preparation skills that elude many. Our skilled chef will guide students through the preparation of Italian “Red Checkered Table Cloth Classics;” Eastern Mediterranean Lifestyle dishes; Chinese Take-out Favorites; Exotic Thai; and Mexican Standards. Once you have completed this course, you will be able to prepare magnificent classic dishes from Osso Bucco to Caramel Flan!
