This course is designed for family caregivers who deal with Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, Lewy-Body dementia or other conditions that cause significant memory problems. In addition to basic information about dementia, this four-week course conveys essential elements to address the illness, common health complications and tips from professional care providers who deliver person-centered care. This course incorporates the use of various materials, resources and the Internet to facilitate the learning process. Students obtain competence in caregiving by the end of the course. The instructor is an authority on dementia.
